Tanner Tuck (T.J.) has been playing drums and performing live since he was 5 years old. Like his brother Shadrach, he attended Artswest School/Fresco Arts Academy. He has both sat under the teaching and performed with professional instructors including Grammy Award winning players. He is a natural teacher and is great at encouraging and motivating kids.
He teaches all styles and specializes in Jazz and teaching rudiments, sight reading and music theory. He is the drummer for Coba, winner of Boise’s Got Talent, and plays drums on their debut album. The band has played at Curtis Stiger’s Mccall Jazz Festival and opened for Victor Wooten, famed bass player. As an eighth grader Tanner was honored to be chosen as the drummer in a high school combo which won 3rd place in a national competition at the Monterey Next Generation Jazz Festival. Tanner also plays guitar and has begun composing his own music. Tanner graduated from Idaho Fine Arts Academy in 2016. He received the Gene Harris scholarship and attended Boise State University in 2016.
